Back to the Figure – Contemporary Painting

In the summer of 2006 the Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung
is putting on a big group exhibition entitled “Back to
the Figure – Contemporary Painting” with around 120 pictures
from 80 or so international artists. By showing the whole
range of figure paintings it will be possible to sum up the painting
boom of the early 21st century up to the present time. The
exhibition, in six chapters, concentrates on pictures of people and
shows the topical and historical traditions behind the pictures.
Each work has to have been produced after the year 2000 in
order to qualify for the exhibition. The age of the artist is immaterial – what matters is the production date. More...
